1. We have launched #BiraturabaTwese” campaign which means It concerns us all :
The campaign aimed to break the taboo around menstruation and start talking and sharing knowledge on menstrual health and menstrual hygiene. The campaign is targeting young girls in primary schools between 12 and 17 years old.
We have so far managed to conduct the training in 2 provinces:
- Province Rumonge – Muhuta commune. We managed to gather 68 young girls from 2 schools (Rutunga and Gitaza) who went through successfully a training on Menstruation Hygiene At the end of the training sanitary napkins and soaps were distributed to participant
- Province BUBANZA –. We managed to gather 87 young girls from 2 school (Gifurwe I and Gifugwe II) who went through successfully a training on Menstruation Hygiene .At the end of the training sanitary napkins and soaps were distributed to participant.
2. We have written a book titled “Break the taboo on menstrual health” which will be launched before the end of this year and it will be published in English and Kirundi in order to reach a wider audience
Many more activities, visits and books are yet to come as the road is still long on the path to hindering school abandon by Girls.
